Keynote Speakers

Professor Theresa Marteau, Director of the Behaviour and Health Research Unit, University of Cambridge

Theresa Marteau is Director of the Behaviour and Health Research Unit at the University of Cambridge.
Her research focuses on the development and evaluation of interventions to change behaviour (principally diet, physical activity, tobacco and alcohol consumption) to improve population health and reduce health inequalities, with a particular focus on targeting non conscious processes. Other research interests include (a) risk perception and communication particular of biomarker-derived risks, and their weak links with behaviour change, and (b) the role of evidence for behaviour change in policy.

Professor Eugene Milne, Director for Adult and Older Adult Health and Wellbeing, Public Health England

Prof Eugene Milne has Director of Public Health at Newcastle City Council since March 2014, prior to which he worked in Public Health England as Director for Adult Health and Wellbeing. He holds honorary academic appointments at Durham and Newcastle Universities. He is also Vice Chair of the National Institute for Health and Clinical Effectiveness Technical Appraisal Committee, Strategy Board Member of Fuse: the Centre for Translational Research, joint editor of the Journal of Public Health and a Trustee Board Member of Tyne and Wear Sport.
   

Professor Wendy Wills, Professor of Food and Public Health and Chair of the Hertfordshire public health liaison group, University of Hertfordshire

Wendy Wills is Professor of Food and Public Health at the University of Hertfordshire, and Chair of the Hertfordshire public health liaison group. Her research interests include studying socio-economic factors and behaviour within a broader 'practices' framework.
